What writing letters to a newspaper taught me about clarity

A few of my letters were published in The Himalayan Times. Writing for a strict word count, for an editor who won't hesitate to cut anything unclear, teaches you to say what you mean without padding.

That habit shows up now in how I write project briefs, tickets and stakeholder updates — say the point first, then support it, and cut everything that isn't doing work.
